Hello, I really could use some advice on financial issues. I called Bank of America which I have/had 3 credit cards with and asked for an estimate on what the minimum monthly payments would be when the 0% APR promotions expired. The next day they closed all 3 of my credit cards without any warning. I had about 34K in debt on those but had never missed a payment, have been with them since 1998 and I really needed to use some money from them this month to pay rent. Long story short, I have health issues including cancer and was just starting to get new job opportunities but at the same time I am also just about broke, hence the reason to use a direct deposit for rent in 9 days. I spoke with a representative who could not re-open my accounts and then his manager who said the same thing. I had been transferred 6x w/ an hour and 1/2 on hold and then was told that it was an internal number so I couldn't call it directly. They said it was a Risk issue and I'd get a letter in the next 7-10 days. I was polite but this is really a kick in the head.
So any advice on what to do would be really helpful. They said the cards can't be re-opened so that really tanks my debt/credit ratio as it was 41K of my total credit. And mainly now I have a week to figure out how to come up with rent and then will most likely have to move out. I don't have family/friends that can help me so I feel very screwed. Thank you for any advice and if you need more information I may have forgot, I can provide it. I also have no 401K or any other finances. Bank of America basically just said thanks for your 21 years of business, and F you, goodbye without any warning. Very unhappy....thanks again for any advice.
