My primary care dr recently changed Insurance Groups and I was never notified. I went for a sick appt and was asked like always if anything changed with my insurance coverage etc, and they still didnt mention anything. So during the course of the visit they performed a rapid strep test and a rapid flu test, I then received a bill in the mail for 890 dollars. Do I have any recourse beyond just talking to the office staff, because Ive done that and their response was that its my job to know what everything will cost before I accept a test. That they dont negotiate and that they dont offer payment plans.
