Been wanting side income for a while now and spent inordinate amounts of time looking for side jobs that'd fit a weeknight/weekend schedule, but couldn't find anything paying more than $8-$15/hour that would also probably leave me completely exhausted (full time white collar professional during the week). Rather than wasting time continuing to look for minimum wage jobs, I decided to help my wife look for a job. She was an administrator at a university making $38k. I tried for a long time to push her to submit job applications to find a better and higher paying job, but the more you push and annoy, the more resistance you meet, plus it just breeds resentment and creates a toxic marriage. I decided to 'help' her apply (she's not the most motivated person in the world to advance her career), and started sending out dozens of apps for her per week. She finally landed a job 2 months later for $60k. A $22k increase in our HHI is much better than any kind of income I could get on the side over the course of a year working lowly paid side gigs. It was well worth it to help my spouse apply for jobs, and it has been a marriage booster.
