My mother in-law was scammed by people pretending to be the Social Security Administration. They talked her into buying $16,000 worth of Target gift cards with a combination of cash and mostly credit cards. We have reported it to the police, FTC, Target and credit card companies.
Just looking for advise on how to proceed. She is going to need financial support. I am not hopeful about the credit cards covering it as fraud but the person she talked to was hopeful.
