Basically I have a co-worker (we make the same amount of 12 an hour) who wants to move out of where he is at and so do I. We've agreed to live kinda minimalist for the first few months prioritizing bills and stuff. We only know the rent, pet deposit since I have two cats and a few other bills. Rent: 785 Car insurance: 200 One time pet deposit: 350 My phone: 45 Gas: 60 Food: roughly 150 to 200 between the two of us.
The main reason I want the place I'm looking at is the fact that it allows pets, it's in the city I live in and not far from work. However, it's near a kinda bad neighborhood. My girlfriend would also be living with us but she can't work just yet due to no ID, transportation, social anxiety. We agreed to split everything in half except my car insurance, phone, and pet supplies. I know I would probably need renter's insurance, money for car maintenance and other things but between the two of us we bring in roughly 3k a month and I know that at this location we need to make 2x the rent and I think we qualify. Anything I'm missing or some tips if I make this move? I dont expect it to be easy in the slightest.
