So, I've been thinking of proposing to my SO for quite a while now and have been working on an engagement ring for quite some time. I'm a student and don't have much money, plus the amount of tools I own is limited.I tried making a ring out of wood. I found a nice looking tree branch, cut it into discs and drilled a whole, sanded it multiple times but they all broke/bended/splitted.Then I made one out of metal. I bought a bolt nut, used a metal saw to make it half the size and filed the edges until it was completely round. Then I did the same thing with the hole, which was a pain in the ass because I only have a huge metal file. But I was able to do it. Afterwards I sanded it a lot. The result was quite nice, but after a couple of weeks it started rusting on the inside. Are there any ways to make a nice ring without fancy tools? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2Omrr9g
