What terrifies me more than anything is inflation destroying my retirement plans.
Say that I can live comfortably in retirement with $2k per month in today's money. If I assumed an average return of 6% and used a conservative 3% withdrawl rate, I'd need to have 2 million to do so, which the calculations don't support me ever achieving.
I can't see myself living on like 500 per month or something. Hell, wouldn't even cover property tax, and would be a crappy life.
I should be making average of 60k for the next 25 years or so, with a 457b, and a pension, but it won't be enough.
60k per year in retirement would only buy 2k worth of current stuff in the future.
