Hello,
I'm seeking advice about my raised sales targets at work and how to professionally approach my store owner about it. I currently work in a retail and customer service role and receive fortnightly sales targets, which if hit I get a bonus. For example fortnightly I'm expect to sell $900 worth of skincare to get an $60 bonus (fictional example used).
Lately, I've been exceeding the target sales by double. So, my boss has decided to double my sales target because I'm doing exceptionally well compared to the team. For example my skincare target is now 1.8k, instead of the expected $900 but still getting the same $60 for that increased target. Even though achievable, this increased of sales target only applies to me and no other team member. Which makes me feel like I'm not treated equally and expected to work harder than the rest.
I also know my increase in sales isn't based on luck. I don't like to be pushy and don't sell stuff if I don't believe it will help someone. I put a lot of hard work to improve at up-selling, study at home how to be better sales person and even with my strive for exceptional customer service it took me 2 years to build a strong returning customer base. I work hard to grow at my job and the sales numbers are showing but I feel like I'm being punished for doing "exceptionally well".
Thank you for reading. I'm looking forward on your suggestions on how to resolve it.
Tldr: Doing well at my sales job, my boss increased my targets by double but it only applies to me. Feels unfair to be treated differently to the team as theirs isn't doubled. Looking for advice on how to professionally fix my situation.
