I have a roof/attic built just like this:https://ift.tt/2OqZqZK length of the attic is approximately 36 feet, the ceiling joists on the floor are 2 x 6 spaced 16 inches off center. Now, each 2 x 6 appears to span 12 feet and then is joined with another one. So there are in total 3 14 foot 2 x 6's spanning the attic with 2 joins, each join is about 3 feet long. Most of the joined sections appear to be resting directly over top an interior wall from the living space below, not sure if that makes any difference or not. The interior walls below are only 2 x 4's, probably not actually providing much support, but I have no idea. The joins on either end of the attic look like this:https://ift.tt/2vDeg8p half of one side of the attic the 2 x 6's are joined by 2 perpendicular 2 x 6, like this:https://ift.tt/2MHvwQk doesn't appear to be any additional vertical supporting structures besides the interior/exterior walls.Does this attic look like it can take a little bit of weight in terms of plywood and storage? I've been up there a few times to do electrical work and it feels very sturdy as far as I can tell. I know it is difficult to make a judgement just from a few pictures, but I'm hoping somebody can let me know if this looks fairly standard or maybe something sketchy is going on. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2B1Cm1J
