Our soapdish was broken by someone dropping the shower head and smashing it into the soapdish. When I removed it, I found it was essentially glued in to place on a wire mesh pattern seen in the picture linked below. I believe they just used a ton of silicon caulking to hold it as there is maybe a quarter inch gap between the wall and back of the soap dish. Should I just mount the replacement in the same way or is there a better way to fill in the gap behind the dish and the wall for this repair.
