I paid a $500 "debt" off via my credit card which I felt was very fishy for many reasons but was convinced in the end due to their tactics. Now I'm second guessing. Any tips for

  1. How to successfully dispute the charge with my bank
  2. How to file complaints to FTC and other agencies
  3. How to validate or verify the legitimatecy of the debt
  4. How to protect myself from identify theft
