I opened a Roth ira today and I feel so good about it. I have this community to thank for the encouragement! Thank you!
Here are a few details about it. I opened it with e*Trade since I was already established there with my learning stocks and mutual fund. I did not take this choice lightly since i see a lot of people suggesting Vanguard. I just did not feel the need to open a new account with a different broker. Etrade has over 100 commission free ETFs and over 1k no load mutual funds. I feel like there are plenty of options for me there.
I was only able to put in 200.00 at this time, but it felt so good to place that in 2017. I am so encouraged now to save as much as i can so i can try to make the limits. Its feels like now with our messed up government a tax free retirement account will be very handy in 30 years when i will need it.
