I work in a very conservative firm where most people wear suits. I tend to push the limits of "business professional" with khakis, oxfords, sweater, and a tie. I'm not looking for traditional dress shoes such as wingtips or loafers. I've been wearing Rockports (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FEY35ZE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) for about two years now. The shoes themselves are holding up well, but I've lost a lot of weight recently and the shoes are now loose (I never knew that you could lose weight in your feet). A side-benefit of the Rockfords is that I don't have to throw an extra pair of shoes in my gym bag; I can wear them when I work out and at the office. I don't walk nearly as much as I should as I tend to be chained to my desk. I see lots of posts for hiking boots and work boots. I'm looking for something in black that is comfortable, well-made, and pushes the limits of what I can get away with at work. I'm fine with buying another pair of Rockports, but I thought that I would see if anyone had any advice.
