Hello R/Frugal.
I'm sure this has been posted before but here it goes:
My fiance and I recently started making our own homemade regular yogurt and Greek yogurt. After seeing Greek yogurt at the Superstore for nearly $7 CAD for a regular sized tub, we decided we should see if we can make it our selves. It turns out it is a very simple thing to do. All you need is a jug of milk, some yogurt to start with and a strainer. We ended up with a lot more yogurt for the cost of a 4L jug of milk ($4.80) than we would have if we bought the $7 tub at the store. The Greek yogurt is more condensed so you end up with less but regular yogurt is as simple as 4L of milk = 4L of yogurt.
Here is a link to a helpful recipe below. My fiance and I go through a lot of yogurt so this is very worthwhile for us, hope it helps save you some money too!
