I work as an LPN(licensed practical nurse), with about 3 years experience. I worked at the facility I'm at now for 18 months before moving due to a relationship. I moved back to town 5 months ago and started back at my old facility.
Honestly, I was ecstatic about getting my old job back for many reasons. It saved me the hassle of traveling back and forth for interviews, put me back into a comfortable position, and I liked the facility to begin with.
So when I started back here there was actually a job-listing up on indeed.com labeling the pay as $18-24/hr. Unforunately, I never bothered to negotiate my pay, which I know I should have done. They hired me at the base pay they're offering of $18/hr. I'm realizing now that it's rather insulting I'm making the base pay they offer. I'm reliable, consistent, get along very well with both my residents and other co-workers, and I do a great job on a daily basis.
So how do I go about asking for the raise? I'd be happy with $19/hr, but I should probably ask for more? I'd like to stay here at least until I finish my education since they're very flexible. Should I go looking for other jobs to use as leverage before asking for the raise or is that unecessary?
tldr: need help getting raise
