So I'm having an issue with dealing with a bill that I believe should've been handled through workers comp. I had a minor accident in my retail job about a couple months ago where the step ladder I was standing on had collapsed and inadvertently landed onto my foot. I had filed the workers comp papers so I could go get checked out at the hospital; just a few a x-rays are done and I'm fine.

A few weeks pass by, my foot feels better, but I receive my first bill saying I need to pay a bill of about $300. This persisted for a weeks even when I would contact the corporate division of my job to handle the situation. I've been openly communicating with the administrator who handles these situations at my job, but I honestly feel it's going nowhere, as if no one knows what to do either.

Fast forward to a few days ago, and I receive a letter from collections saying I need to pay a bill of about $67. Is it possible that workers comp only paid a portion, and I therefore have to pay the rest? I just don't understand because I assumed that the corporate division of my job would've handled it, as they have reassured me they would, but now I'm on collections and frankly I don't know what to do next. I don't want this to negatively affect my credit because I want to move quite soon, so I also feel like I should pay it off, but I'm afraid that my job possibly can't reimburse me for it, if they can.

I'm in California by the way.
