Hey there,My wife and I bought a house recently and are wanting to add something to the pretty bland front yard. Her dad has been growing hostas and has a few ready to plant when we want them. What we planned on doing is using a bean-shaped mulch bed to hide the roots of our maple tree and serve as a home for a few of the hostas/some ground covering plants.My questions: Do I need to remove any layer of my lawn before laying the mulch? Is it enough to install a plastic edging I might buy from Home Depot and then pour the mulch after killing weeds?Any help would be greatly appreciated.
