Hello all. So the main bathroom on the first floor has always had issues draining. I've had someone come over who said the most likely culprit is the brass fitting that comes after the bend in the trap. I'm looking to replace the galvanized piping with PVC.My question is this: The drain itself is pretty much in the middle of the joists. Can I use PVC fittings to make an extended trap like was previously installed or would that create more issues? I would rather not notch any joists here. I haven't been able to find anything that specifies how long a p trap can be from inlet to crown. As long as it holds 2"-4" of water would this idea work? I added images below.http://ift.tt/2vokHK9 via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2tdwKxr
