Have a question for you all. I purchased 2 8ft butcher block countertops from lumber Liquidators (https://ift.tt/2JE79C0) that I am planning on using for a new (large) L shaped desk. I’ve never dealt with butcher block, so I know I need to sand them down and prep them but not sure what I should do as far as finish.I’d like to keep it as it’s natural finish but not sure if I use lacquer, mineral oils, teak oils, danish oils, or just clear poly. Anyone have any suggestions or reading material I can look at?I’ve looked at a lot of posts on here and most people seem to stain and poly but that doesn’t seem right to me....I don’t want it shiny just natural and again it won’t be used for eating (except my lunch on a plate) and I don’t want it to ruin any papers or anything I sit on it (heard that mineral oil can do this). via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2GRVvFV
