Hey guys! So here's what I'm dealing with: http://ift.tt/2t6Q79O winter one of my bedroom windows had the glass broken and I decided I'd give it a go at repairing it. I've watched videos on removing the sash, watched videos on repairing the broken cords & reattaching them to the weights, watched videos on all manner of things, and I've determined that I have windows that are not normal.Removing the lower sash was fairly straight forward - I used a 5-in-1 painter's tool to start prying away the molding, and then prybars to slowly remove the pieces surrounding the sash itself. I consider it a victory that I only broke one piece of molding, all told.Next was removing the lower sash itself. It turned out that there are aluminum jamb liners in place, so I had to pry up the nails that held them in on one side, then remove the sash / jamb liner in one go. Once the window came out, I set about attempting to pull out the counterweight pocket covers. This is where I have problems. It would appear that they are rabbeted in under some molding between the upper and lower sash. I have no idea how I'm going to get this molding out, as it's inset into the frame.Any suggestions? I'm really hesitant to proceed further as I don't want to destroy the molding any further. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2s6mRkq
