Before:http://ift.tt/2tKfdvM had a Braeburn 5020. The wires were connected to C, G, Y1, RH, jumper between RH and RC, and a W1/E/W3. I have a gas furnace and I believe it's central cooling but I'm not 100% sure. I have vents in the ceiling so I think it's blown by a fan? How can I verify this information? Here's the Nest wired up: http://ift.tt/2uIMHI7 I used the wood screws for the top part mounting, the screw just went straight through the drywall and there was nothing behind it. The screw was just hanging in a hole so I took it out and taped it to the wall. The second bottom wood screw went in fine and is staying in... I should've used drywall anchors.1) How can I confirm the HVAC system I have so Nest configures correctly?2) Is my wiring correct to the new Nest? Will all the bends in the 18 Gauge copper conductors cause electrical or fire issues?3) Will the hole on the top be an issue? How can I patch this up later if I decide to remove the Nest? I have no idea what's behind the drywall.I know some of the questions are very basic but I appreciate any help. This is all very clearly new to me... but it appears as if the Nest works. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2tKsRz5
