So I just tried applying for my very first credit card and got denied. Partially probably due to me shooting above my weight class (applied for the CSP). I called the Chase recon line and they explained that even though my credit score is rather high (>700) on Transunion, they denied me because it was only that high due to me being an authorized user on my parents' credit cards. That's actually reflected better on my Experian credit score which is in the low-600s because it doesn't have my parents' accounts on it. I'm just wondering where I should go at this point. A secured credit card? Or do I just go for a more realistic credit card? Do I have "bad credit" or no credit? The only accounts that's mine are student loans which have been paid off for a while now. Any suggestions/advice are welcome.
