I've been working on improving my credit after a few years of poorly managing it.
I'm 28/F/married. Of the two scores on CK, TransUnion score is 605 and Equifax is 539. My husband has a score of 640.

I've worked to get all collections removed from my report, although I'm still fighting the one that is actually erroneous because insurance covered the claim.

My husband and I attempted to apply for a joint credit card through our credit union and were denied. Then I decided to apply for a SECURED credit card and was denied. How do you get denied for a secured card?

What can I do to improve my credit beyond getting the last collection removed? It's from a dentist's office and it is $224.

Is there a difference between applying for the credit card together and him applying and adding me as an authorized user?
