We are looking to purchase a house without ductwork and have been having a debate on whether to replace the current electric baseboards and add window air conditioners or if we should get a ductless mini-split system. We're talking $750 or so to more than $5,000. It's a huge difference.
I'm not good with math and calculations so I'm not sure how to calculate how long it will take for the cost of the mini-split to pay us back in energy savings over the window air conditioners and baseboard electric.
The house is about 1,500 square feet in NJ.
I posted about it on r/HVAC but am now thinking r/Frugal might be the better place to post since I'm concerned about the cost and if it's really worth it financially or not.
