About 6 months ago, I received a letter from the IRS stating that they'd audited my taxes from 2014 and found that I accidentally claimed some tuition paid that I shouldn't have claimed. The initial letter stated I owed ~$2600. I contested their claim, and after some correspondence, I realized my mistake and am fully prepared to pay them in full. I signed the letter claiming responsibility and asked to be billed for the amount I owe, plus any interest.
This was three months ago, and I've yet to receive a bill. I've tried calling the number on the letter I received, but keep getting a call tree that isn't helpful. I've checked the IRS website, but I can only find places to pay tax bills (without knowing exactly how much I owe). Can anyone direct me to a number to call or a website to visit to actually see how much I owe these people? Thanks in advance.
p.s. I checked the letter against the IRS' scam reports and it appears legitimate. I'd hoped for a second that it was a scam.
