Here's my situation. I'm a 20 year old college student . My monthly income ranges from 800/month during the semesters I don't have my job to 1550 during semesters I have my job and 1400 when I'm out of school with my job. I just checked my credit score for the first time. I have a 669. The only loans I have are for school, close to 15k. I was going to apply for my first credit card. I prefer paying with cash or my debit card. I'm on my 4th car, all paid for with cash. I have about 500 in my account right now but that should turn into 1500 or so in the next 2 weeks. I've been told I'm not good with money or saving up and to be frank it's true. I do spend my extra money on unnecessary items. As I planned and saw I should have about 2000 by may I immediately thought of what I could buy, trips around the world or a nice AR-15. What would be some good tips to help me. I've read saving an emergency fund of about 6 months of liveable costs. I've been in the position before where I had to ration my food to keep from starving. I've found a good credit card for students and plan to use it to build my credit. I appreciate any help.
