So I was a manager at a small theater that was locally owned. I made $10/hr. Over the summer the other manager quit so I had to work 5 days of 13 hours. I had two checks that were over $1000 with 120+ hours each check (two weeks were a pay period). I received no overtime and when I asked my boss he said that there was a law passed where minimum wage workers don't have to be paid overtime. I live in Alabama. Is this true?? I don't think I was a minimum wage worker since I was making $10/hr. Should I hire a lawyer to look at this? I didn't question it further because I didn't want him to get angry and fire me but I've since quit and want to know.
