I woke up at 5am this morning for work. I shaved (which I'm required to do), had breakfast, got ready and showed up on time.
Fast forward to 7am. One of my co-workers asked, "What are you doing here? You're not on the schedule." I looked on the schedule, and sure enough, she was correct. The day before, my supervisor called me and asked me if I would be able to work this morning, and I agreed.
This has happened multiple times, and I want to let them know that this is not OK without losing my job; e.g., telling them to go fuck themselves; or scheduling a shift and then not showing up, and when I receive a call from them asking why I'm not at work, responding that I've taken them off my schedule.
It's irritating because I'm a full-time college student with two jobs, I cherish my sleep, and a lot of time has gone down the drain preparing for work and waiting in traffic only to find out that I've been taken off of the schedule in the time I schedule a shift and when I show up to work said shift.
How should I handle this, /r/personalfinance?
EDIT: I just got a call from my supervisor and he said he apologizes and would pay me for four hours. Problem SOLVED! Thanks for your input, everyone.
