How do you find frugal motels? Speaking of places really out of town along the highways.
Every now and then, ironically mostly when I don't need it, I find a great deal for motel, like $20-$30 a night. Usually non-chain, family operated business. When searching through the Google / maps / booking sites and apps nothing even close to that price range would come up, and I can only find such hotels on the web if I already know where and what to search for.
Would love to figure out the way to find these place in advance for a long road trips.
