I got an alert that my SSN was leaked on the dark web. My dad’s name is associated with it along with a fake address 🤦♀️ My dad and I’s relationship is strained. I went no contact for about 10 years for many reasons. Ironically in September of this year this alert was sent to me, but I didn’t see it. The following month in October I reached out to him (feeling guilty because he’s getting older and I didn’t want to live with any regrets). Now a month after contacting him (Nov) I just seen that he tried doing something with my SSN. I’m not sure if he did this when I was a kid and it’s just now showing up or if he tried doing it this year. What are my options?! I’m getting ready to buy a house in the next year or so.
