my mother recently passed away in a accident and it is all very sudden. I recently turned 19 and am the oldest of 3. I really don't know what to do as far as financials go. she and my stepdad who also passed owned their own business at home, she has a whole business with a few employees and multiple houses. I don't have any access to any of her stuff which is my main issue. I'm still not sure if there is a "will" (I'm not sure the spelling but she left behind for me and my siblings) and I still don't have her death certificate. my main question is how do I get access to all of her laptops and phones and what am I supposed to do about the bank accounts and vehicles and houses. I don't even know how much money she had yet because I have no access to anything. I believe I'm getting temporary death certificates which will give me access to most of her things but what do I do about everything else? she owned a ton of stuff financially, property too. am I supposed to get an attorney for all this or lawyer? I went through some of her things and found a few phone numbers I plan on calling but any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated thank you!
