Hi, a friend 43F lost her husband recently. She has a job that covers her rent and expenses. Her husband was the decision maker on all investments and made his parents the beneficiaries so she has lost everything to them. She doesn’t own a house. All she has is 400K in cash at this point and is seeking investment advice:
Condition:
- Keep it safe, low to no risk of loss from potential recession dip
- access to it every few months as she may choose to buy a condo at some point
My advice to her:
- 3 months T bill (no need to pay tax on earnings)
- HYSA, her bank WellsFargo offered 4.something
- CD but I don’t know much about them.
I may have also suggested keeping 350 safe in one of these option but buy a bitcoin from other 50. Can’t confirm or deny.
Will you please share your thoughts? I want her to stop feeling lost because the stab-you-in-back husband died.
