My wife and I are both 40 years old and make combined about $230,000 a year. We recently increased our 401k contributions to 10% each and we've made maximum Roth IRA contributions the last few years and plan to continue doing so. The issue is we both started saving for retirement relatively late in life. At this point, we have about $200,000 combined in our 401ks and $50,000 combined in our Roth IRAs. We don't own a house or have any other significant assets. Should I feel safe or will we need to start contributing more? Thanks.
