I have excellent credit and own my own apartment. My boyfriend, who I’m very seriously dating and eventually planning to marry, does not have great credit.
We’re planning for him to move into my apartment and start paying me rent. Ideally, I’d love to use this as an opportunity to build his rental and credit history.
Are there any software platforms that I can use to make sure that the reporting is correct and his payments are being reported on his credit history? What do I need to know when drawing up a lease? Is it necessary to involve a real estate lawyer?
What are some things I should keep in mind?
