I’m selling a laptop on Facebook marketplace and I’ve had 3 people now claim that they can’t meet me just yet but they want to pay me ahead of time and meet later.
Then they ask for venmo or zelle username and email - they have a clear preference for Zelle.
What are they hoping to do and how does a successful version scam play out?
