Starting a garden is expensive, but I’m lucky and had to move back to my parents this year so now I got all the backyard space!

I’m sure I don’t have to mention the rising food costs. This year I will start small so that I don’t get overwhelmed with the work.

My plan so far:

Indoor: oyster mushrooms, basic kitchen herbs, medicinal/tea herbs (chamomile, mint), aloe Vera. Possibly special hot peppers like Ghost Pepper. (Don’t want a wild animal to experience that lol)

Outdoor: russet potatos, red onions, hot peppers, bell peppers, lettuce and strawberries

Has anyone else tried to grow food for their family? I feel like growing your own food is easier when you realistically want to eat the foods you grow. Like I love mushrooms for everything and spicy peppers
