I have been researching investment opportunities and options commonly come up. My understanding is they are significantly riskier than just buying the stock and selling it later. At the same time, supposedly you can make a lot of money from it if you do it right/are very lucky. At the same time, my understanding is that volatility is already factored into the pricing when you buy a option, so it takes more than average volatility to make profit. Is it worth working with options? Also if so, how do you limit your loses so you don't exceedingly end up in the red with a bad trade?
