Bought my first car at the age of 30. I was lucky to be given the family car after college. The new car is a BRZ, and I was not ready for the finance portion of it.
I think I knew my rights, I had my credit union loan approval, but went with the dealership since they had a better rate. I wasn't ready/informed on the extended warranties. One for electronic and one for power train. The power train was for free oil changes, fluids, and tire rotation?
The first time the finance guy told me my monthly payment was with the extended warranty and asked if that was good. I had to ask if it was extra, and ask he to explain what it was for. It felt predatory. I declined both since, I don't like these things being sprung on me and he offered to explanation. After I declined a few times he offered a better rate, but I don't know if he dropped the cost or did something else.
Did I goof and they are actually beneficial? Or was this some extra stuff they make money on?
