So as the title says the people before me never switched the utilities off of their name and I didn't switch it to my name until about 3 months of living there. I have their bills and everything, when I switched it to my name I figured their bills would be switched to my name but my account still has a payable balance of $0. Do I need to call the utility company and explain? Or can I leave it be and just start paying last month's rent and forget about or will I get in huge trouble?
I know I messed up not immediately switching it but I just kinda forgot about it and did it late.
