Today I was teaching my college class about personal finance. A student raised her hand and said that in another class, an instructor had advised her that a sound strategy to build credit is to maintain a balance on her cc’s of 30% of her credit limit. Have you ever heard such lunacy? Credit usage is a factor in FICO scores, but even there 30% isn’t considered good.
