This is ridiculous. I’m a travel nurse. I work contracted assignments at hospitals for a set amount of money that is usually x2 to x4 more than what a staff nurse makes yet I can’t qualify for a loan. I’m so upset over this.
I have a 800+ credit score. I have $100k LIQUID CASH ON HAND and another $200k in retirement. I have ZERO debt. Literally… no debt. Not a thing. No car payment. No credit card payment. I make $156/hr. However they consider my income unreliable because I’m a “contract worker.” My lender said I’d be better off taking a job as a staff nurse making $33/hr to qualify for a loan.
This is so stupid.
