For anyone that invests with Ally bank, they simply cannot be trusted with large transactions. 10 days prior to my home loan funding, my mom drops some money into my bank account to help me out with the down payment. All properly sourced by the mortgage company with a large papertrail of proof. 10 days later, time for my loan to fund. Closing paperwork had all been signed, 378k waiting at title. Last thing they're waiting on is my down payment money. I put in a wire request online and get multiple notifications saying that they're working on my request. Ok great!
I get an email right around the Federal wire cutoff time from loss prevention department saying they suspected suspicious activity and I needed to call them. So I did. I verify it's my account and the guy starts questioning the deposit my mom made into my account (it was a regular transfer). He said the name of the deposit didn't match mine. REALLY?!?!? You wait until the money is LEAVING my account to start questioning the source of it? Had literally no problem with it when it was transfered and when I had it in there. But now that it's LEAVING you want to block my account for further review?!?!?
I'm now out $2000 of earnest money, out of an apartment at the end of the month, and out a beautiful home that would have housed my wife and 1 year old son. Thanks a lot Ally!
I now have to wait until someone in the investigations department reaches out to me. No matter how hard I tried to explain to them the sourcing of everything, the more of a prick they became. Now I'm out of all of my money, my current home, future home, and deposit. Ally f*cked me.
I urge you all to stay as far away from Ally bank as possible. They will ruin your life the same way they ruined mine.
With all that being said, does anyone know how long something like this typically takes to get resolved with Ally? How long does it take for the investigator to reach out so I can get this cleared up and put a deposit down for my next apartment? Any help would be appreciated.
