27m So I've normally been doing the bogelhead approach to retirement. Make money from job, take money put in roth 401k and roth ira. Index in total us market.
I've also been listing recently to real estate podcasts. While their sector is real estate, they discuss it in a manner of running a buisness. They claim that for themselves the 401k and ira makes no sense because it is money you cannot access untill retirement age. Where as if it's money in your pocket you can make that money make you more money.
Does it make sense to shift away from the 401k/ ira to have capital to invest in real estate and or other ventures?
