Recently laid off. And I normally suffer from pretty bad back pain. But I normally have to suck it up unless it's unbearable to the point where I think I should rest a day or 2. Took 2 days off, then went in to work, decided half way through it not worth the effort. My last day is coming up and my manager said I can't use my sick time and that I have to go on LOA. I'm visiting my Dr tomorrow to get a shot to help the swelling and get a note to cover myself so that he knows I'm not just trying to gain the "system". But it's my sick pay. I've earned. Why CAN'T I use it? And I'm literally about to be out of a job, so why should I force myself to suffer when I have the benefit to cover me? I've been sucking it up all year.
