Is this like a new standard or something? I’m not a contractor but when I got hired for my job a few years ago they made me 1099 for 15$ an hour for a year before withholding taxes. Yeah whatever that job is scummy. I finally got a new job for 24$ an hour and was really excited, come to find out how hey put me on 1099 for 3 months for a “probationary” period. Wtf?? Isn’t this illegal? Why does this keep happening to me
My first job had like 5 employees so I get they thought they could getaway with it but this new place has probably close to 100 employees.. I don’t understand why this is a thing
Both jobs were for like product lister/ e-commerce positions
