I used to hate Crocs because - let's face it - they're not the best-looking things to put on your feet. But then I bought a pair to bring on vacation for boating and fishing, and they've since become my main footwear.
They're very comfortable and durable. They've lasted longer than two pairs of Nike sneakers (probably $60 each, on sale). When they get dirty, I just soak them in a bucket of hot water with a small amount of bleach, and then scrub them with a sponge while I rinse them, and they look good as new.
I'm on my feet a lot at work, and I don't have any back problems from them, though my back is sensitive to footwear. I wear them year-round, with or without socks. Bonus, they're easy to slip off while driving (not illegal in my state).
I get that Crocs aren't for everyone. But if you can get over the look of them, you might just like them!
