My computers fans were always on overdrive even doing basic tasks, it would get hot and be slow.
Today I finally decided instead of ignoring the problem I’ll learn to clean it out myself. I used a basic Philips screw driver from my tool kit and then a dime to pry open the back. It was completely covered in dust. The laptop is over 3 years old now. I realized I didn’t have any compressed air so I went to the store and got a can for $9.99.
It still needs new thermal paste but a friend offered to do it for free, even though I told him I would reimburse him for his time and cost of paste but he told me to not worry about it.
Learning about computers and how they’re built is a super useful skill if you rely on your pc or laptop. I learned everything I know about computers from quite literally YouTube. For example Best Buy will charge you $40 for a tune up when I do that myself every week which is just checking all updates, delete old files, delete unnecessary programs, virus scans etc.
