So, out of left field, with ZERO explanation in the letter, i received a notice from "ADP Wage Garnishment" for a judgment allegedly levied against for $18K and change. First of all, I don't owe ANYONE anything even REMOTELY close to that, and second of all, I was never notified that I was "being sued", if that's even what happened. The letter came with a URL and a QR code for me to scan that would take me to a copy of the judgment. Neither actually did that, it was a dead end. However, when i went to the ADP site noted in the letter, it had me register and asked me some security questions for which i had the "correct" answers. This letter is claiming that they are going to notify my employer that they will be taking 25% of my income effective immediately. Again, NO explanation as to what this is related to, no information, and NOTHING like this appears anywhere in my current credit report. There was the number for some collection agency, which is also some lick-knob attorney. I called that and left them a happy voicemail.
How can this be legit? I have two outstanding debt accounts that i'm paying on, neither is even CLOSE to that amount, and nothing is named in this letter. WTF?
