I'm not sure what this sub actually wants to achieve given I'm not a very old member here. But the number of DIY junk and borderline r/diWhy stuff being posted her make me cringe frankly. That's not being Frugal. Frugality in not too much lifestyle altering, it should not eat up your living standards. Frugality is saving money by ensuring controlled spending and learning to do easier stuff by yourself rather than paying for it, especially cooking. It does not mean that you become a walking junk shop.
No disrespect, but it also doesn't mean sticking with a 20 years old CRT TV that will likely get you a much much higher electricity bill. Frugality would be buying a cheaper 1080p LED Tv rather than OLED 4K screen cause both look similar from a distance. You'll save a lot of money here while also enjoying what the technology has to offer.
Frugality is rational calculated method of saving money through rational brainstorming. This is not being cheapster (unless you're very poor and simply can't afford stuff)
