I was going to cancel my renewal, which is in December, so that I didn't forget about it later on. Then, I saw that I had the option of cancelling right away to receive money back. I cancelled right away, and now Amazon is sending me $90! Since the late December renewal, I've only used Prime twice. So that's why I got most of the money back.
The one possible issue is that I'm not sure where that money will end up. Gift card balance? Back to my debit card checking account? The email says "Your refund will be processed within the next 3-5 business days and will appear on your next billing statement". If it's gift card balance, that means that some of the $90 will have to now go towards delivery fees.
But still, since I don't think I was going to use Prime much this year until Christmas, I like having most of the money back. Now I can try to shop at local stores or else find better deals on eBay (or even just not buy as much stuff now that I don't have fast delivery on things).
